9/11 GI Bill
The Post-9/11 GI Bill is an education benefit program for individuals who served on active duty after September 10, 2001. You may be eligible if you served at least 90 aggregate days on active duty after September 10, 2001, or were honorably discharged from active duty for a service-connected disability after serving 30 continuous days following September 10, 2001.

Military Education Benefits and Programs Guide
If you’re an honorably discharged veteran or currently serving member of the military, you have many options for funding your higher education. Active-duty personnel and selected Reservists have access to programs like tuition assistance (TA). Veterans, depending on when they served, can take advantage of the Montgomery GI Bill, Post-9/11 GI Bill, Yellow Ribbon Program and other aid. There are excellent resources for military spouses and dependents as well. The U.S. Servicemember’s Guide to Academic Programs and Aid
Military branches and non-profits provide active duty service members, veterans, and their family member with ample funding opportunities for college. Funding and training for current personnel are usually designed to help you complete a certificate or degree program around your military schedule. Veterans have access to monthly school funding of up to $1,500 per month and career development training. Spouses and children of servicemembers and veterans are often eligible for tuition, educational supply assistance, and child-care aid

The Best Colleges for Veterans
Our goal is to provide a comprehensive resource that veterans, active service members, reservists, and military dependents or survivors can use to determine which college will provide the most support, in terms of both financial aid and student services.

Online Colleges Database – Veterans Resources
The College Database recently created a free online guidebook for military veterans and their families. The free 20-page guide titled “Higher Education Resources for Veterans and Their Families”, includes detailed research by Ron Kness, a 36-year military veteran and expert in the service-to-school transition. The guide also has more than 150 resources with links to (and brief descriptions of) each.

AC Online’s Guide to College Affordability for Veterans
The Affordable Colleges Foundation is an organization chartered with providing free information to the public related to college affordability, admissions, college return-on-investment and financial aid opportunities. We recently created a non-commercial, free resource guide for veterans that is focused on the topic of college affordability and higher education options for vets. Our information is always free and the guide is non-commercial.
