By connecting our nation’s military Veterans with rescued animals, Pets for Vets helps create second chances and new beginnings. With over 300 successful matches and counting, we are changing lives one lick at a time.
Making the perfect, lifelong match begins with our dedicated volunteer trainers who help select and prepare animal companions for their new lives. If you are a professional dog trainer who wants to make a difference for Veterans and pets, we would love to have you on our team!
Turn your dollars into real change with a tax-deductible donation to Pets for Vets. Your contribution directly impacts Veterans and their animal companions by providing everything they need to start their life together on the right paw.
We enrich the lives of Veterans by creating a Super Bond® with custom trained working animals.

Meet The Chapter Directors
Deborah Colby and Devon Younge serve as co-Chapter Directors of Pets for Vets-Las Vegas.
Deborah is a lifelong animal lover who believes passionately in the healing benefits of the human-animal bond. She also has deep respect and gratitude for those who serve and sacrifice for our country. That’s why as soon as she found out about Pets for Vets, she knew she wanted to be a part of it and make a difference for both Veterans and shelter animals who, together, can help each other heal. Originally from Oregon, Deborah holds Bachelor of Science Degrees in both Business Management and Marketing, and she made the Las Vegas Valley her home in 2017. In her spare time, Deborah loves traveling and exploring our beautiful mountain trails.
Devon Younge is a dedicated animal lover and military spouse. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management at the University of West Florida and moved to Las Vegas shortly after graduation in 2012. Devon’s experience with animals has helped her to understand the impact they can have in the form of companionship and emotional support, and she is thrilled to be able to support the Pets for Vets dual-mission to help veterans and animals in need. In her free time, she loves spending time with her two dogs, Tucker and Penny, and exploring local outdoor areas, as well as staying current on the music and entertainment industries.
Together, Deborah and Devon partner with a dedicated team of trainers and volunteers to help fulfill the Pets for Vets mission, and they welcome new volunteers to join them in serving Veterans across the Las Vegas Valley. They can be reached at lasvegas-nv@petsforvets.com.
"He’s more than just a friend. He’s my battle buddy. He’s my left hand. We’re connected by a leash, but it’s really our umbilical cord. He’s sometimes more tuned into me than I’m tuned into me. He knows more about me than I do sometimes. He lets me know what’s going on."
– Adam
"You would think that a dog is just a dog. That may be true for some, but not me.
I used to sit at home, alone, and just let life pass me by, but now I have a reason to get up. Even if it’s feeding Samson, or taking him for walks, he has motivated me to live again."
– Luke
