Long Island Rocks Again for Veterans and the Homeless
Thanks to everyone who made "Long Island Rocks Again for Veterans and the Homeless" a smashing success! Thank you to all the amazing bands and musicians who donated their time and talent and to Wade, Daniel, Theresa and their friends for planning, hosting, cooking and working tirelessly. Together they raised over $1,900 and collected an enormous amount of food and clothing for Veterans and the homeless. We'd also like to thank our new Pets for Vets NYC & Long Island volunteers Anne Stanton and Patti for being such great additions to our team!
Because of everyone's efforts and generosity, Pets for Vets NYC & Long Island received a $900 check. This generous gift allowed us to provide Army Veteran Lecia with a massive Welcome Package to start her wonderful new life with Binky (who was also at the event!). The Welcome Package included dog food, toys, a crate and bed, a year's supply of heartworm and flea/tick preventative, grooming supplies and more.
We're thrilled that Wade, a Veteran himself, was also able to donate checks, food and clothing to three organizations that help Veterans and the homeless. Thanks to all for supporting Veterans in our community!
Epic Fail Challenge Race
On May 3, 2014, Pets for Vets NYC & Long Island helped raise awareness for our organization by sending a team to participate in the Epic Fail Challenge Race, a charity event full of “awesome thrills and crazy spills".
Thanks to everyone who participated!
