Meet Our Chapter Directors

Christina D’Zio, a New Jersey native, lives in Manahawkin with her husband of 19 years and their son. She is the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, who served in the Marine Corps. Her father suffered from PTSD and Christina witnessed first-hand the bond and companionship he had with his rescue dog, Zoey. After his death, Christina wanted a way to honor her father and  help veterans. With the help and support of her co-director, Linda, they started the Ocean County Chapter.

Linda Rietmann is also a New Jersey native, raised in Barnegat. Linda has degrees in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Linda has been married for 20 years and has two sons who are active in music and sports. She also has two rescue dogs that have become an integral part of her family. Currently, Linda is studying to be a holistic health coach. Linda follows her father’s passion for helping Veterans. Linda’s father volunteered to go to Vietnam; however, a medical condition kept him stateside.  He has devoted much of his life to fundraising and helping both Veterans and Veteran’s organizations, including an annual ride with Rolling Thunder.

Christina and Linda know first-hand how the military can affect both Veterans and their families are excited to bring Pets for Vets to Ocean County, New Jersey.
