A Pets For Vets Match Story

Lee and Lucy

This match was made on January 24, 2020 between Army Sgt Lee, who served our country in active combat in Afganistan. Lee and his wife have 2 children who were all very excited to adopt their new dog Lucy.  After his tour of duty, Lee chose to earn his nursing degree because he realized his strengths were in reacting quickly in emergency situation.  He is now an emergency room nurse in a local hospital.  Lee is excited to have Lucy for numerous reasons, including having her to help calm him when he experiences periods of anxiety. Lucy seemed to adjust quickly to her new home and upon leaving them together, Lucy had quietly laid down next to Lee, rolled over and was clearly asking for a belly rub... Lee happily responded!
