A Pets For Vets Match Story

Mel and Cat

Mel is an Air Force Veteran and due to regulations in his living environment, Mel can’t have a live pet. He missed the Black and White cat he had at home so Pets for Vets gave him the next best thing—a Therapeutic Interactive Pet. Mel named his Black and White cat and smiles and laughs as the cat purrs. The cat can lick it’s paw, roll over, respond to petting, blink it’s eyes, wiggle it’s ears, turn it’s head and meow. One of the workers at the VA Hospital was walking by Mel’s room and thought it was a real cat. Mel’s cat not only comforts Mel but has become a favorite companion for his caregivers.
