A Pets For Vets Match Story

Our First Match

In 2014, the Cape Fear chapter of Pets for Vets made its first match when a lovable Redbone Hound mix was placed with a Veteran who suffers from PTSD.

The Veteran was looking for a loving, playful dog to keep her company and our trainer found the perfect dog for her. The Veteran sent a note thanking Pets for Vets for “… making it possible for me to have a companion dog. I can never really convey what this means to me. I want everyone to know that she is in very good hands. She has everything a dog could want for…health and comfort.”
