Steven and Dozer

Specialist Steven Mangiameli’s life changed the day he found a Pets for Vets brochure at the VA. Ten years in the Army left him with depression, anxiety and a debilitating sense of loneliness. He spent many days in bed unable to face the world. He expressed to Pets for Vets that he was in great need of a companion.

Dozer is that perfect companion. Dozer is a small terrier mix with an adorable under bite and scruffy fur. His sweet temperament made everyone who met him fall in love with him.

The moment that Steve met Dozer, you could feel a weight lifted off his shoulders. Dozer curled up in his lap and the two of them just looked at each as if they had each found their “home”.

The day after receiving Dozer, Steve said “OMG! I am so in love with Dozer! I can’t express just how overwhelmed I am in love with this doggy! I really can’t thank you enough again for bringing him into my life!”
