Steve and Whiskers

January 1, 2016 was not only the start of a new year, it was the start of a new life together for Steve, a decorated Veteran of the US Army, and Whiskers, a Miniature Schnauzer who was surrendered to rescue by his elderly owner.

Thanks to Helping Paws, Whiskers traveled all the way from Mississippi to Maine, where he was trained specifically to fit in with Steve's lifestyle and requirements. Whiskers is now Steve’s constant companion and a full-fledged member of the family.
