About Our Chapter

This chapter serves Veterans in the greater Atlanta area.

Meet Chapter Director Cynthia Coles

I was born in Tennessee (Go Vols!), and raised in Georgia. I graduated from Georgia State University and stuck around the Atlanta area. I married an Army reservist in 2013 and shortly thereafter we adopted our fur child, Layla, a hound/lab mutt.  I come from a family of veterans – my dad served in the Navy, and my uncle, grandfather and great uncle all served in the Army.  After a quick google search of organizations who help pets and veterans I started volunteering with Pets for Vets as the Volunteer Coordinator when my husband was deployed in 2017.  I’m an Executive Assistant full-time, but enjoy the opportunity to give back to the community as our Atlanta chapter’s Director.

Assistant Chapter Director - Camellia Fazzalari

Board of Directors:

  • Mark Coles - President
  • Casey Bradley - Vice President
  • Rajpal Sagoo - Secretary Treasurer

Top Dogs Pet Boutique (located in Kennesaw and Alpharetta) is a great place to shop for your furkids. This wonderful company donates all the companion pet equipment we need for each Welcome Package for our Veteran/pet matches. Many thanks to owner Suzette Lindsey and her employees for always being so helpful and friendly.

Marietta Wine Market is the coolest wine store in Atlanta! This inviting place is known for its easy atmosphere, great wine selection, and for being where people gather to support their favorite local charities and causes. Marietta Wine Market hosts a variety of charity events on a regular basis, including the Pets, Vets & Vino event that raised over $300 for Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA. Our thanks to everyone who came out to support us at this event, including Marietta Wine Bar owners Karen and Randall Heard, who generously donated a wine tasting for 20 to our LMCTA Silent Auction!

Three Piece Suit Football is the brainchild of Cameron Miller and Joff Braio, two friends who came up with the idea one night over beers and, well, football! The game is held every year at the 4th Ward Skate Park in Midtown Atlanta the weekend before the Super Bowl. Guys and gals turn out in some of the most outlandish three-piece suit “uniforms” you’ve ever seen to entertain the fans who show up to cheer their favorite team to victory. There’s even a Dog Disc competition at halftime!

Ed Roland, the lead singer of the Atlanta rock band Collective Soul, has a heart as big as his talent. Ed loves to give back to his community and has a particular interest in helping Veterans. Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA was fortunate enough to be one of three charities that “Ed Roland and Friends” selected and supported at their fundraiser at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA. The event brought together a variety of musical talent who played to a packed house and raised $5,000 for Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA!

Last October, the Lost Mountain Community Tennis Association (LMCTA) hosted the Halloween Fright Fest Charity Tournament and Silent Auction to benefit Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA—for the second time! The weekend tournament, in which players donned Halloween costumes, and the Silent Auction, held that night at the Brookstone Country Club, raised $5,000 for the Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA!

For the second year in a row, Primus Builders in Woodstock chose Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA as the beneficiary of their annual employee fundraiser. We joined Primus Builders’ employees and their families at this carnival-like event which took place on a hot day in June. Activities included the very popular Dunk Tank, other family-friendly games and competitions and several raffles, along with great food, drinks and ice cream! This event raised $5,271 for Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA!

Every year, CrossFit Zanshin hosts Murph for Mutts, a one-day fitness event where participants do the MURPH Hero workout for a great cause. This event pays tribute to our fallen Veterans and raises funds for a worthy charity and this year, Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA was lucky enough to be the recipient.

The event raised $436 for Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA! Thank you to Karen Escobar and everyone at CrossFit Zanshin for your support!

In 2014, the Atlanta Chivers raised more money for Pets For Vets Atlanta, GA than any other group or business! Dozens of people came out to relive the glory days of Madonna and shoulder pads at the Chivers’ 80s Prom Party at Twin Peaks in Buckhead. Partygoers danced the night away to 80s songs and had a blast taking “prom” photos. Twin Peaks (who donated the event space) got into the spirit by showing old TV clips and the Pets for Vets logo on the TVs around the bar.

The following businesses and groups raised $2,000 or more at their events to sponsor a Pets for Vets companion dog for an Atlanta Veteran! Congratulations and thank you for all you do for the pets and Veterans!

Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA would like to thank PetSmart Charities and PetSmart for their amazing donation of $3,500!

Pets for Vets Atlanta, GA is pleased to be an official charity of the Georgia Fitness League (GFL). For the second year in a row, the GFL donated the proceeds from their “There Goes My Hero” competition to our chapter. Our thanks to Josh Patterson and the GFL participants for your ongoing support of Pets For Vets Atlanta, GA!

Our thanks to the Fayette Daybreak Rotary Club, who donated enough money to cover an entire match! Thank you for all you do for the pets and Veterans in Atlanta.
